USER GUIDE

Comments and @mentions

Talk about the work where it happens — and pull a teammate in by name with @.

Conversations in Bizinly sit on the thing they're about: a sales order, an invoice, a deal, a customer — and, with add-ons such as Projects, a task. Everything here is internal to your team; customers never see it.

Where you can comment

  • Documents and deals — the Messages panel on a sales order or invoice, and the comments in a deal's side panel. See Collaboration: messages and files.
  • Direct messages — private threads with a teammate, from the Messages inbox.
  • Project tasks — the Comments on a task's side panel and its full page, when Projects is switched on for your workspace.

New comments appear live for everyone who has the same thread open — on documents and deals, and on tasks within about a second — so there's no need to reload. The Messages inbox and the top-bar icon collect document and direct conversations; task comments stay on the task, and the bell takes you there.

Mention someone with @

  1. In any message or comment box, type @. A list of teammates opens — keep typing to narrow it (accents and capitals don't matter).
  2. Pick a name with the arrow keys and Enter (or Tab), or click it. Esc closes the list.
  3. Send as usual. The name shows highlighted in the message — and more strongly for the person it mentions.

Only people who are allowed to open that document or record are offered, so you can't mention someone into a conversation they can't read. The check is made again when you send: a name that doesn't qualify simply stays as plain text.

What the mentioned person gets

A notification — "Your name mentioned you" — with a short excerpt and a link straight to the conversation. It arrives in the app and, by default, by e-mail too, right away rather than in the daily summary; each person can change that for mentions in Account → Notifications (see Notifications). A mention replaces the usual "new message" notification for that person, so nobody is told twice.

Mentioning someone doesn't add them to the conversation — they get this one notification, not every later message. To keep them in the loop, mention them again.
